When two offers could both apply, you decide which one wins

Only one discount applies per order. The Priority field on a bundle or a discount offer decides which one Arbyn saves, and what a shopper is told when the other one loses.

Shopify applies one discount code per order. So when a shopper qualifies for a bundle and a discount offer in the same conversation, exactly one of them ends up on their checkout.

The Priority field decides which. Higher wins.

Where to set it

It's on both forms, with the same meaning in both:

  • Sales → Bundles → open a bundle → Priority

  • Sales → Discount offers → open an offer → Priority

It's one shared scale across both types, not two separate rankings. A bundle at priority 5 and a discount offer at priority 3 are compared directly, and the bundle wins.

Everything starts at 0. If you never touch the field, nothing changes about how your offers behave today.

What happens when two offers collide

Once Arbyn has saved a code to a conversation, that code is the one on the order. Another offer can only take its place if its priority is strictly higher.

Equal priority does not swap it. That's deliberate: by the time a code is saved, the shopper has usually already been told about it in the chat. Breaking a promise you've already made to a customer needs a better reason than "this other one was just as good."

Since every offer starts at 0, this means the first offer to apply in a conversation stays until you give something else a higher number.

The shopper is told, not left guessing

When a second offer loses, Arbyn says so plainly rather than quietly swapping codes or claiming both applied:

Heads up, only one discount applies per order, and WELCOME10 is already saved to this conversation, so that one stays on your order.

If a bundle loses the discount slot, the bundle items are still added to their bag. Only the code doesn't change.

Choosing numbers

There's no required scale, so pick something you can read later. A common approach:

Range

Use it for

100+

the offer that should beat everything, such as a VIP or win-back code

10 to 50

seasonal or campaign offers

0

everyday offers, where you don't mind which applies

Gaps are useful. Leaving room between numbers means you can slot something in later without renumbering everything.

Which offer Arbyn sees first

Priority also orders the list of offers Arbyn considers. If you have a lot of them, the highest-priority ones are the ones it definitely knows about, so an important offer with a low number can be one it never reaches.

If you have more than about twenty active offers and one of them matters more than the rest, give it a number.

A note on what priority does not do

It doesn't change whether an offer is eligible. An offer still has to be active in Shopify, in date, enabled for chat, and match its own conditions. Priority only settles the tie once two eligible offers are both in play.
